Criminal Justice II

Background

Students are expected to demonstrate their understanding of labor issues (workers' rights, wages, benefits, labor organizations, professional associations, etc...).

This is a required competency in Virginia Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses.

Topics: Working with a partner, students will conduct research on an assigned topic related to labor issues. Examples of topics to be researched include child labor laws, minimum wage, overtime compensation, EEOC, OSHA, FMLA (or maternity / paternity leave), FLSA, labor unions and professional associations, and workers compensation.
