Before you start:
What kind of information do you need? (Lots of details and background information or just basic information?)
Which kinds of sources have the information? Think in terms of type (scholarly articles, magazine articles, newspaper articles, statistics or other facts/data, etc.) and in terms of quality (authority, currency, accuracy, reliability, etc.).
How much information do you need? Think about quantity of resources. (Several articles? A few books?)
